Lets Communicate

Welcome to JR's Corner.

                                       Disconnected??

We live in a great world advanced in technology. As we all know, we are able to communicate via emails, texting, Face Book, Twitter, Skype, Pinterest, oh yes and the cell phones. It almost feels awkward calling a phone a phone. They seem more like hand held laptops.
In spite of a rise in our communication world, many times we fail to connect. Yes, there is a difference between communication and connecting.
Verizon couldn't put it in better words when they came up with the famous slogan, "Can you hear me now?"

Not connecting or getting disconnected is not fun. Have you ever been in an important call, or just an interesting one and all of a sudden you realize the other party is not there? How long were you talking to yourself? Will you be able to pick up where you left?
"Dropped calls...Not fun!!"
Of course disconnectimg doesn't only occur over the phone.
I have experience being in a conversation with someone and somewhere in the middle of the conversation is when  I realize I have  disconnected.

Apparently my topic was not important or maybe the other person had something in mind. I must have gone over his/her minutes, and since we are living in such a fast pace world we only have a "few minutes" to speak.
I'm thinking "time" can easily pull the plug and disconnect us.
In other words we are communicating  yet disconnected.

How about  when someone asked you, "how are you doing?" and just when you are about to answer, they walk away, and say, "take care, my friend." Hmmm, I guess I wasn't fast enough, or they didn't really want to know (which in many cases "it is what it is.")

I feel disconnected again!!!!

One would think that texting is the right way to go, right?
After all our society has replaced a lot of the talk talk with texting.

Well maybe it's only me but it's  so frustrating and sometimes hurtful when after I send a few texts, there is...no reply!!!

How about the ones that  reply and answer questions you didn't ask. The ones that puzzle you by answering one of the 3 questions you asked.
I am communicating, but again I am disconnected.

I'm thinking this could be one of the reasons why in a world of "high tech" communications so many feel disconnected.
So many feel alone, depressed, and with no one that would listen, or really care

Yes, we can turn to Face Book, and all those fun social networks we love so much but even there many times we feel disconnected.

I challenged myself, and challenge you to find someone to really connect with this week.
Put some "Value" into someones life. Build someone up this week.
It only takes a few minutes to make a difference in someones life.

Maybe if we all start connecting as we communicate we all can make a big difference in the lives of many.

I wake up every morning and ask God to grant me the opportunity to Connect with someone whom I would be able to make a difference in.

Of course we must not forget that our first connection of the day should be done in "Prayer"

Isn't it great to know that when you connect with God, there is no drop calls, no miscommunication, all your questions are answered, and most importantly...He is your Best Friend Forever!!!!

God bless.
